New changes effective February 1, 2008
     Due to the new laws requiring passports it is now taking 4 to 6 weeks to receive a routine passport. If you expedite, which is an extra $60.00 and pay for overnight postage both ways it is taking 2-3 weeks. 

Passport Services

     The Town Clerk's Office now offers one-stop convenience for your passport needs by adding photo service for only $10.00.

     So, if you are planning a trip and in need of a passport, let us assist you in acquiring your passport.

     There are three (4) certified Acceptance Agents in the Clerk's Office. Please allow 4-6 weeks processing time for a routine passport. We have all the forms and information you will need.

ROUTINE PASSPORTS:
Age 16 and older is $75.00 to US Dept. of State, $25.00 Town of Windham for a total of $100.00.

Under age 16 is $60.00 to US Dept. of State,  $25.00 Town of Windham for a total of $85.00 

Passport cards are now available, however, the card will not be in production until this summer.  The card is NOT FOR TRAVEL BY AIR.  Valid for land and sea crossings between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Carribean only.  Call for more info.

Please make sure the birth certiciate you bring is a certified birth certificate that has a raised seal and a filing date.  Passports will not accept a hospital birth certificate or a census birth certificate.  It must be issued by a City or Town Clerk's Office or a Vital Statistic's Office.

The form will ask for the applicant's Social Security number.  We do not need to see the card, but you must fill in the number.

For children under the age of 16 who are getting a passport; both parents must be with the child at the time the application is being processed.  If for some reason one of the parents is unable to be here, there is a form (DS-3053) that can be filled out ahead of time, but it must be signed in front of a Notary Public and then brought to us by the applying parent.

RENEWALS:
Renewal by mail is $75.00 and you must qualify to use form DS-82.

EXPEDITED SERVICE FOR ROUTINE PASSPORTS OR RENEWAL PASSPORTS IS $60.00 PER APPLICATION

Expedited fee does not include overnight delivery. Overnight stamps are $16.25 going to passports and $14.85 returning from passports.

PASSPORT PHOTOS:
Just $10.00 for these photos taken at the Town Clerk's Office in Town Hall.
