Windham residents and business owners are invited to review and discuss the proposal to create an overlay zone that will allow retirement communities, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or boarding homes for sheltered care in a greater number of places within the community. The proposed overlay will also allow this type of housing at a greater density than some of the underlying zoning districts.
The meeting will include a presentation of the proposal followed by a public discussion. The Planning Board will not take any formal action on the proposal at this meeting. Public comment will be accepted by the Board.

Energy Advisory Committee
(Post Updated October 24, 2011)
The Town Council voted to adopt the Town Energy Plan in July 2011. The Energy Plan consists of two parts the Energy Plan, and the Energy Inventory. The Plan contains goals and recommendations regarding municipal energy usage, and the Inventory is a detailed account of how the town used energy (vehicle fuel, heating, and electricity) for 2009.
The Council also implemented the first recommendation in the plan by establishing a standing Energy Advisory Committee. This group will be working with the Council and staff to implement items from the Energy Plan.
