The Windham Police Department is proud of its continuing involvement in the Community and the department web site is designed to increase the communities awareness of the functions of the Police department and the services it provides
Chief Lewsen joined the department on 10-18-76 when the Windham Police Department officially started operations as the Towns Law Enforcement Agency with its four initial members. He started at the rank of Sergeant and was promoted to Lieutenant on 06-07-82 and to Chief of Police on 01-26-89.
Lieutenant DeGruchy joined the department on 06-07-78. He was promoted to Sergeant on 07-20-82 and to Lieutenant on 08-07-89. Lt. DeGruchy earned his Associates Degree in Law Enforcement Technology from Southern Maine Vocational College in the spring of 1976. He is responsible for the daily operations of the police department and supervises theDetectives, Patrol Sergeants, and CommunityServicesOfficer.
Linda has been with the deparment since 02-11-85 and is the Administrative Secretary for the Department.
