The Town of Windham is located in the Greater Portland area in theSouthern Maine Region.Windham is a residential area which serves approximately 17,000 people. Windham is located in the heart of the Lakes region area and is home to Sebago Lake, which is the second largest lake in Maine. There are also several other small lakes and ponds.  Windham is approx. 47 square miles in size and has approx. 150 miles of roadways.

When fully staffed the Police Department employs 28 full-time officers, 7 Public Safety Dispatchers, 1 Animal Control officer, 1 Administrative Secretary and 1 Part-Time Clerk
